Photograph and Video Policy

The Nepean Skating Club (NSC) from time to time takes photographs or videos of our skaters. A person will be appointed to do so by the Board of Directors. Any photograph or video may be included on our bulletin boards, website or facebook page, in local newspapers, or any other document, information sheet or advertising relating to the club to promote its events/activities and to celebrate skater success. Such photos will not be for resale.

During NSC on-ice and off-ice sessions or NSC events:

  • Coaches are permitted to photograph and video only their students for teaching purposes, provided they have the permission of the skater’s parents. Such photographs and videos will not be for resale.
  • Parents and guardians are only permitted to photograph and video their own children for personal use.

Where possible, coaches, parents and guardians are to avoid including other skaters, understanding that sometimes this is not avoidable.

The following are strictly prohibited: videotaping of complete events or skating sessions, flash photography and any sale of photographs or videos.

Parents and guardians who do not wish to have their skater’s photographed or videotaped for NSC promotions may choose to opt out by declining the NSC Photograph and Video Waiver. This waiver is a part of the registration process.

____________________________________________

Note: This waiver will be used for all skaters at registration.
