Coach Cynthia Reid Inducted Into Nepean Sports Wall of Fame

Good Afternoon NSC Families,

We are proud and excited to announce that Cynthia Reid, one of the clubs lifetime members and coaches, has been inducted into the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame!

Cynthia was a beloved coach that helped build the club into what it is today. Coach of the 1979 Canadian Ladies Figure Skating Champion, Janet Morrissey, as well as generations of Nepean skaters. She was an active volunteer with all figure skating competitions held in the Ottawa area and was a constant fixture in the rink for over 40 years. Called “Granny” by many of her students for her warmth and caring as a person, and a coach, she was instrumental in building a strong foundation for figure skating in Nepean that still persists today.

We are so thrilled that her memory will live on in the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame and that her family was able to accept this honor on her behalf.
