The Nepean Skating Club offers a wide variety of programs. Whether you are new to the sport, or an accomplished competitive skater, the Nepean Skating Club has a program for you.

CanSkate

The Nepean Skating Club offers a complete recreational skating program for all ages and abilities. The skills taught are applicable to all ice skating sports. No previous skating experience is required. Our professional staff follows the guidelines of the Skate Canada CanSkate Program.

Junior STARSkate

Junior STARSkate is an advancement from the CanSkate program. The design of this program is to introduce parents and skaters to the more individualized training of club skating. It is a great way to develop a skater’s skills while in  private instruction from one of the club professionals.

StarSkate/Competitive Skate

The Test and Competitive streams are based on the Skate Canada standard programs.  They offer challenge and opportunity for recreational skaters as well as skaters who wish to develop their competitive skills.
The test stream allows skaters to participate in competition and test their skills against the Skate Canada standards in the following skating disciplines:
  1. Free Skating
  2. Ice Dance
  3. Skating Skills
  4. Artistic

The competitive stream allows skaters to participate in competition and test their skills against the Skate Canada standards in the following skating disciplines:
  1. Singles
  2. Pairs
  3. Ice Dance

CANPOWER Skating

Power skating is a program that is intended to teach necessary skating skills for hockey and ringette players. The program is administered through the club and taught by accredited CanPOWER Nepean Skating Club coaches.

PRE-POWER Skate

Pre-PowerSkate provides an alternative to Canskate and is a feeder program for the CanPowerSkate program.

Adult Learn-to-Skate

Information about this program will be provided when it is available.
