Coaching Philosophy
I have much dedication and appreciation for my sport. I enjoy working with skaters of all ages and abilities. I want to motivate my skaters to develop a positive approach towards figure skating while having fun and working hard. I want them to develop into the best athletes/people they can be.
Personal Skating Achievements
- Completed Gold dances including 1 Diamond dance, 6th figure, Gold skills and Junior Silver free skate
- Working on Diamond Dances and Interpretive.
- Skated for ‘Source’ Nepean synchronized skating team for the past 5 years (team was National Champs 2008-2009 season).
Coaching Qualifications
- Fully NCCP Level 1 certified
- NCCP Theory Level 2 completed
- Currently working on completion of NCCP Level 2
Coaching Experience
- I have taught skaters of many ages and levels from Canskate to Starskate (Preliminary to Senior Silver levels) and also adult programs.
- Coached skaters at club competitions and test days
- Skated for 20 year back home near Sudbury (Valley East Skating Club) and started my professional coaching there in 2002.
- 2007 to present - Canskate coaching for Nepean Skating Club
- 2008 to present- Canskate and Starskate coaching for Metcalfe Skating Club
Available to Teach
- Freeskate, Stroking, Skating Skills, Dance, Interpretive, Choreography
Rates
- Lesson – $31.00 per hour ($7.75 for a 15 mins lesson)
- Group – $31.00 divided equally between the numbers of skaters.
- Competition- $31.00 (includes warm up and medal presentations) Travel expenses (meals, mileage, overnight accommodations etc. will be divided between number of skaters)
